Born in Brooklyn and raised in Jamaica, Queens, Lionel 'Lonnie' Wheeler grew up amidst of the urban sprawl of the city, developing a passion for the contrast between man-made environments and the natural world.

 

Lionel's photography blends technical precision with a poetic sense of light and composition. His images often feature his native NY/NJ landscapes, cityscapes, and astrophotography -dawn's light breaking over the city skyline, or the quiet moments amongst the constant scurry of New York's everyday life.

Over the years, Lionel has explored many corners of the United States, gaining diverse experiences. New York City has always remained his true home and ultimate inspiration, a place where his roots are firmly planted. The city's vibrant culture, fast-paced environment, and endless opportunities have become the center of his professional life, guiding his ambitions and shaping his identity.
